Born and raised in Montreal, Tricia developed an interest in art at a young age, but due to unforseen circumstances was unable to pursue it at that time. Fortunately, Tricia rediscovered her talent in the mid 1990's when she took drawing courses at John Abbott College. From there Tricia went on to study oils, and later watercolour, under well known teachers Tanya Axuik & Barbara Simmons. Tricia continues to read and take workshops believing that you never stop learning and improving.
Since moving to Ottawa Tricia has participated in group exhibitions with:
She has also juried solo shows (Cumberland Town Hall Gallery and Ottawa Gloucester Gallery) and group juried shows with ECOAA, ArtEast, Ottawa Art Festival and Rideau Valley Art Festival.
Tricia has won various awards with Ottawa Art Association, Art East, Nepean Fine Art League and ECOAA.
Tricia has a deep rooted passion for colour and light, and a great love of painting ‘en plein air’. Her paintings have a life of their own, with a subtle strength to draw the viewer right into the canvas itself. Her works, which could be described as contemporary impressionism, now hang in private and corporate collections in the United States, Great Britain, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany and across Canada. |
